Teign Ladies 3s Lost 5-1 to a well organised Dart 3’s side at
home this weekend.
Teign had great periods of possession in the opening stages
of the game and created several chances on goal, taking the lead through Ruth
Atkinson who angled home a strong cross from the right.
The goal sparked Dart in to life and they forced themselves
back into the contest, winning the midfield battle and creating a series of
goal mouth opportunities of their own. Unfortunately for Teign, Dart were more
clinical and managed to convert on three occasions, taking a 3-1 lead into the
interval.
Ultimately Dart’s greater quality in midfield was too much
for Teign and despite fighting valiantly in the second half, two further goals
followed for the visitors. It was a promising performance for Teign following a
string of disappointing results. This weekend they face Torbay 2s, with both
sides winless this season it will be a real chance to chalk up a win.
