23.11.13 - Men's 1s vs Tavistock (Away)

Teign Men’s 1st XI drew 0-0 away to title rivals Tavistock this Saturday to remain top of the table.
The eagerly awaited early even fixture between the top two teams in the division was sadly affected by bright low lying sun behind one goal that made playing into the sun a severe disadvantage. As a result, Teign struggled to maintain much possession in the first half as it was impossible to pick out your own players, a fate that Tavistock had to endure for the second half.
Despite this some good hockey was played but both sides largely cancelled each other out and chances on goal were at a premium. Neither side was able to produce much quality from the limited penalty corners on offer and the final result was a fair reflection on the game.
For Teign it was important to maintain their unbeaten run, especially away from home. The top three sides in the table are now separated by a single point but Teign will be glad that they have face both title rivals away from home in the first half of the season.
Teign are at home to East Devon this weekend and will be keen to win their remaining two fixtures before the Christmas break.
