Teign Teach Plymouth Uni a Hard Lesson
Last seasons’ top scorer Ben Ayres put in a phenomenal five
goal performance to add the gloss on an impressive 10-1 win for Teign as they
remain league leaders.
Despite going into the game with six goals on the season
this game was definitely a return to old form for Ayres, as slid and dived
around the penalty box to score a fine collection of improbable goals. He was ably supported by midfielder Richie
Fisher who added his third hat-trick of the season, and Ryan Bougourd who
chipped in with a brace.
Plymouth University A’s consolation goal came in the second
half from the penalty spot and it was well deserved. They brought a skilful and
energetic side with a decent league record but came up against Teign at their
ruthless best.
Teign’s run of good form is peaking just at the right time
as they face Tavistock this weekend. Tavistock sit second in the table, just a
point behind Teign.
