Clevedon 0 - Teign 5
Teign travelled to bottom of the league Clevedon in
search of 3 points to secure their position in the league for next season and
came away with a 5-0 win!
The game started slowly and was scrappy as Teign
struggling to control the ball on the slippy surface. With the majority of
possession, Teign pressed and pressed but nothing coming of it with many shots
just passing the posts.
The break finally came from a free hit taken quickly by
Claire Rochelle finding Laura Clark in the D who followed up her initial shot
with a volley to put it past the keeper. Score remained 1-0 at half time but
Teign we're not prepared to sit back.
They came out hard in the 2nd half and although Clevedon
battled hard in defence the goals began to flow. The 2nd came from a well
worked short corner routine, leaving Jane Rochelle to pop the ball in the goal
from the right post. The 3rd shortly after from one of the many goal mouth
scrambles with Laura Clark getting the final touch over the line.
The 4th goal came from a well worked move out of defence
from Amy Jones and an early cross to Becky Gallagher on the right post who
tapped it in.
The final goal saw Shannon Keating driving up the right
hand side of the pitch and putting a ball across the goal for Katie Rochelle to
touch into Grace Bruce's path for her to smash home.
Man of the match went to Laura Clark for her 2 goals and
super work rate upfront and in midfield.
Next week Teign will face Somerset Gryphons 12 o clock at
home.
